I had a similar gyroscopic wrist exerciser from a different company, and stopped using it after a few days because it's frustratingly difficult to get it started. I would say maybe once every 3-5 tries I'd get it spinning, and it takes a long time to get it up to speed. After seeing a couple of videos showing how the auto start feature works from NSD Spinner, and seeing it in action in person at the local L.A. Fit Expo, I decided to buy one from their website. And I've been exercising with it daily since.

The auto start feature takes all the guess work out of it. You just turn it in the direction of the arrow, and keep turning like a wind-up toy. When you feel a strong resistance in the rotor, just release and spin. With the included counter, I was able to measure 2,500+ RPM by just winding up the rotor about 3 full rotations, and if you want, load up the rotor up to 5 rotations will start it at ~3,000 RPM, making it much easier to get the rotor going and sustain the speed. Using the string pull I could never get past 2,000 RPM, and those docking station types? Forget about it. With the auto start I can get it spinning and keep exercising every time I tried.

It's really made a difference in managing my wrist pain from working in front of a computer all day. It's made my wrist and arm stronger so my hand's not sore by the end of the day, and it's only from a few minutes use daily. And my forearm is looking much more toned with nice definition to it too. That, and my husband is now asking ME to open jars for him. :)
