I held off buying any sandbags for my home yoga practice because I had no idea where I was going to find sand to fill them up. I live in the city and don't have a car - so I can't easily run to a home improvement store.

I ended up filling the bags with rice from the grocery store - this seems to be working for now. I'm not sure if I should expect the rice to go bad or start smelling in the future. Right now the sandbags just smell like rice - which is different, but okay with me.
