Marcy SB222 4-Position Utility Bench Review

I'm 5'11", 240 lb (but trying to lose.) I know a lot of people review these lower-end benches and discuss the size and stability. My take is that it's adequate for me. Not super steady and slightly smaller than what would be ideal, but for the price I think it's fine. I bench 50 lb and find that it rocks a bit more than I'd like, but it's definitely not bad and I don't feel that it's dangerous - just isn't "rock" solid. I find as I lay on it I may have to slide a bit so that my body is on it just right - that's where it could stand to be just a bit bigger.

Ok, having said all that I really like it. I knew I wasn't getting the perfect bench at this price. I think I definitely got what I paid for. I really like that it folds up as we don't have a lot of room where we use it so we fold it up and put it against the wall when it's not in use. I didn't see any other bench, in this price range, that had that feature.

Putting it together was fine. The directions say you need one adjustable wrench, but there is a part where you actually need two (or a wrench + a socket) but I had the tools, so it wasn't a big deal. The Allen wrenches that come with the bench are a bit soft and seem to strip if you aren't careful. Again, I had some nicer ones, so no biggie. I was able to do it by myself without too much hassle, but I can see how two people might make the job a bit easier. You really have to get those screws tight if you want it to be as solid as possible, and it can be a tad awkward to stabilize and tighten at the same time with one person - but like I said, I managed.

A final note on assembly. You will come to a point where the instructions will say one thing, and the photo on the outside of the box will contradict it. This is the part where you're placing the pivoting screw and the removable pin. Follow the directions - NOT the photo on the box. The people they hired for the photos did not assemble it correctly and that bench won't fold up! Kind of funny, but anyway, don't think you're crazy when you notice the difference.

So yeah, is it the perfect bench, rock-solid, plenty big? No. But does it do the job, accommodate all of my exercises, and feel like a great bench for the money? Yes. I have no regrets.

BurstFIT: Dr. Josh Axe's Complete Home Fitness Workout DVD Program Review

I have been a follower of Dr. Josh Axe for about 6 months now and I really like a lot about what he says in terms of nutrition and exercise. I also have read a lot in the past year concerning high intensity interval training (HIIT) and the many benefits of it. My favorite being it doesn't take a lot of time, perfect for, well...everyone. But as a full-time working mom of a 4-year and a 1-year old kid, I like something that gives me great benefits without having to spend time away from my family, paying for a gym, and taking hours of time working out. What I love about BurstFIT is that each section is 23 minutes long (20 minutes of working out with 30 second rests every couple minutes). I can spare 23 minutes. You don't need a ton of room, which is good in my tiny living room, or a lot of equipment. I enjoy that I get strength training and cardio workout all in one and that each workout session works on different parts of your body in one session. I also like that he has 3 assistants, 1 beginner, 1 intermediate, and 1 expert level, so you can see the different variations and choose which level that you are at for working out. I, of course, am a beginner and while I normally feel I'm in fairly decent shape, I'm not an athlete and I'm definitely feeling it working out at the beginner level. I also enjoy that Dr. Axe corrects his assistants if their form or method is not right, it keeps me in check that I'm doing things correctly as well. I haven't done all 7 workouts yet as I pre-ordered this from his website and it was delivered to me on Monday, so I've been able to complete 3 sessions so far. Each one has been challenging and I feel very accomplished at the end. In terms of HIIT, he moves you quickly from one exercise to the next, we each exercise set working on multiple body parts at once, to get your heart rate up. Approximately every few minutes you get a 30 second break and then onto the next workout. Another thing I like with these DVDs is that he runs a timer in the bottom left corner, so you know the time left for the exercise set, the total time left for the DVD and in the bottom right corner, he lets you know what is coming up next. There's nothing fancy with these DVDs, which to me is perfect. After just 3 days, I've already recommended these DVDS to about 5 of my friends. I think they are great!

Also with this set is his quick-start guide and a nutrition guide. I haven't used the nutrition guide yet for some health reasons, but I have perused and am interested in several recipes. I am currently following the quick-start guide which is 4 week weight loss guide with 6 workouts a week. I personally recorded my weight and measurement numbers on Day 1 and plan on updating my review after 4 weeks to let others know how I did.

Great suit! I sweat like a pig and it's tougher that mentioned in previous reviews. I have to take the suit off in my bath tub because I'm drenched in sweat, which is why I purchased it. Then I just wash it in the tub and hang to dry. Does the job and great for the price! Just not the most flattering thing to wear in public so I only use it in the privacy of my own home. Also, I ordered a medium/large and I intially thought it was too big (I'm 5'2" female)but after a few work outs, I'm glad I purchased it bigger due to the fact that once you start sweating (which is almost immediately) the suit will stick to your skin and since I do a lot of movement and stretching, it gives me room to move without having to worry about it tearing or ripping.

Soffe Juniors The New Short, Black, Medium Review

I should've paid more attention to the helpful description of these shorts that they're the 'new' redesign of soffee shorts that are teensy. Ok, teensy in that I can't really walk in them w/o getting insta-wedgie, and they are much shorter than normal soffee shorts. However, I have always worn an XL in the Juniors shorts (I'm a grown lady, the juniors ones are cheaper and I rarely see adult lady ones anyway) but the XL of these was enormous, had to return but got a smaller size b/c I liked the color. Addition of a logo is a negative in my book, however.

PediPeds were be best shoes when my son was learning to walk. I thought these shoes would be good quality as well. I was wrong. The initial construction is shoddy... misaligned seams etch. Then the shoes started separating in multiple areas. DC and Converse shoes held up much better than these. I was hoping these had better support and orthopedic design. Waste of money.
