These are ideal if you are interested in trying out a "minimal" running shoe, but want at least some support. Have been using these for daily short (2-4 mile) runs, and weekly long (10-12 mile) runs, both in an urban setting, and on a cross country trail. The trail is the only place I've found the lack of tread to be a problem, with minor slippage. This hasn't bothered me, as these shoes were clearly not designed for trails.
