I got this mat as a "temporary" fix until I rebuild my old and decrepit garage and install proper floor mats. I'm a garage crossfitter and needed a better solution than the old puzzle mats that get banged up and stop fitting together from dropping a bar loaded with bumper plates on top of them. This mat rolls up for easy storage when not in use and has what seems like "zero" compression, so it's great for doing moves like squat cleans where you're feet don't sink into the mat (unlike the puzzle mats). I also have taken the mat outside in the backyard and use it as a more forgiving surface when I'm using my battle rope. I have the rope looped around a tree and tried out the rope on the concrete, but quickly discovered that it will get destroyed on the surface of the concrete. So now I roll out the mat by the base of the tree and slam the rope on top of the mat and the rope thanks me for it.
