Cathe Friedrich's XTrain Series: All-Out Low Impact HiiT DVD Review

This little gem utilizes the HIIT method of training. HIIT stands for high intensity interval training and is considered one of the best ways to burn fat because it increases your body's metabolism. Plus, it's low impact to boot!

For this workout you'll need:

Light dumbbells; Cathe uses 5 pounds
Step with 2 risers
Gliding discs.

The workout is about 39 minutes long and is divided into 3 sections. The first section is HIIT floor cardio, the second section uses the step and the third section uses the gliding discs. Like all the other Xtrain workouts, there are also several premixes, bonus routines and challenges.

Why I love this workout:

* This workout sneaks up on you. I found the floor cardio section the hardest. As I went through the step section, I'm thinking, "This isn't too bad." That is until we got to the last routine, supersonic running man. Yep, it's supersonic all right. Cathe called it an after party. More like a gasping party.

* Cathe's form pointers come at just the right time and are spot on. For example, she tells you to touch your elbows to your knees during the squat kick lunges. I did that and my muscles started screaming. It's amazing how just a little form tweak like that can make such a big difference.

* The exercises in the gliding section required coordination and concentration. You'll do jumping jacks with lots of arm variations. It's kind of like walking and chewing gum. I love working my brain as well as my body during my exercise time.

* The exercises aren't repeated. I know that "repetition is the mother of mastery," but there are lots of exercises we do during HIIT and Tabata workouts that I don't like because they are really, really hard. The thought of doing them again is painful. With this workout, you aren't repeating exercises so the dread factor is not there.

* The pretty brown and teal outfits, with matching sneakers are pleasing to the eye. How shallow is that: focusing on the outfits. But looking at the outfits helped distract me from the `pain' of the workout.

One minor thing about this workout is the music. Cathe got it right this time with the tunes having a driving beat. I really need a driving beat to get me through tough workouts like this. However, many of the songs were vocals and because they were so loud, it was sometimes hard to hear Cathe.

I do love these workouts, so when the vocals became loud, instead of being annoyed, I focused on trying to figure out the words to the songs. This is yet another way to distract myself from the intensity.

I highly recommend this workout to anyone wanting a tough, fun workout that is easy on your joints.

I was looking for a diver watch, and didn't really get a great sense for the products out there. Invicta was one brand I had purchased, and i was quite unhappy with the quality (the bezel was hard to turn, the crown was clunky). Anyhow, with few reviews of this Kinetic Diver, I decided to bite the bullet and buy it.
IT has been the best watch purchase i've made. This is a quality, rugged and elegant piece. It is so resilient, that inspite of bumping it around - it has not one scratch! The bezel moves like silk, and the fact that its kinetic adds to the cool factor.
The rubber/polyurethane strap is extremely comfortable and supple (unlike other rubber straps I've seen).
This is a great watch to have - especially if you like divers. the only gripe i have is that Seiko doesnt seem to have great accessories (So i am having a hard time finding a steel bracelet for it to swap out).

The material is second to none, I appreciate the fine quality of the fabric. It also is nicely stitched together, with strong hemming throughout it's structural-build design.

I will also separately comment on the design. It's the only compression shirt I've come across to have a wider-than-usual neck opening, which allows for greatly reduced irritation around the neck during use and prevents it from being shown while wearing under a looser-fitting workout shirt. It's also designed with a longer-than-usual bottom, allowing itself to be drawn down over the butt while staying put with the neat "hem gripper" that works fairly well.

But darn, must it be so expensive? I would be interested in package deals to cut cost long term.

I got these just in time to go to the gym today! I absolutely love the Blu-Away color so that added to my joy!! The feel of these capris are extremely different as compared to the u.a. Sonic capris (which I love as well) they are very light weight and fit like a second skin. I've been buying the XL's in u.a capris and just started to switch to Larges, I am very please with buying these in Large. I've started losing inches (not weight) and the XL were starting to fall down slowly during workouts. I did not have any problems with these capris at all, in fact I did not tug them up once! Tommy Hilfiger Men's 1790884 Sport Stainless Steel Bezel Black Silicon Strap Watch Review

Very nice looking watch. I bought it because of the white face, and once I took it out of the box I was very pleased with how it looks. I have had it for only a couple days and so far it keeps great time, and it feels very comfortable on the wrist. The only thing I don't like, and I would have given it 5 stars, is very little illumination. Actually, there is not much illumination, and the little it has does not last long at all, which it makes it difficult to tell time in the dark and that is an important feature for me. I will wear this watch often but it will have to be my daytime watch.
