I had a pair of Hi-Tec high ankle hiking boots, and I have really liked them. This time I wanted a medium height pair. I would have never guessed I would buy pink/gray shoes, but they are subtle, and I really like them.
These are pretty nice. They are comfortable, really are water proof, and the insert pad comes out easily so I can insert my custom orthotics. The insert doesn't really have any arch support, so if that's a factor for you, you can easily get some decent inserts for support.
I do a lot of birding, and these are great, lightweight, and good for on or off the trail.
