After reading a number of the reviews, I was concerned the sizing would be off, but I ordered it in the same size as all my other athletic shoes, and it was spot on. The shoes fit great. My right foot pronates as I walk, so the additional support is exactly what I needed. In my previous athletic shoes, I wasn't getting enough support and suffered from plantar fasciitis, but I'm not having that problem with the XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 Trail Running Shoe.

I wear them with merino wool socks, even in the 87 degree weather, which keeps my feet cooler than the cotton socks. I walk approximately 3 miles each morning out doors, up and down hills, off and on pavement. My feet stay dry in the damp grass, and the broad shoe base gives good stability in the mud.

I'll admit, I struggled with the "quick lace" system the first time, only because I've never seen anything like it. After my husband showed me how it works, I'm a convert. I love how easy it is to get the laces as tight as I like them, and how they don't loosen as I walk in them.

I enjoy wearing them so much that even though I purchased them solely for my outdoor walks, I've been wearing them every time I get a chance (to the grocery, baseball games, school functions, etc). If only they came styled as a professional work shoe as well.

I bought a pair of the men's version for my husband, and he enjoys wearing them as well. He also expressed a preference for the wool socks over cotton, which surprised me as he usually avoids wool, claiming it is too itchy.
