XMark International Olympic Weight Bench with Leg and Preacher Curl Attachment XM-4424 Review

I received this a couple of weeks ago after two attempts. On the first try Amazon only shipped box one of two but quickly corrected the problem by shipping out another one two-day shipping. The boxes are about 75 lbs each and they both come double boxed which was nice. There are quite a few parts and it took me about 1.5 hours to assemble.

The bench itself is pretty beefy and solid. It does take up a lot of space since you want to leave room on the sides and in back for use of the squat rack. I'm very happy with the flexibility of the bench as it is my main piece of equipment to replace gym membership. For chest, it does decline, flat and incline very well. The seat goes all the way up for military presses or various dumbbell exercises. Adjustment of the seat is very fast without sacrificing stability. You can rock the seat back and forth but it doesn't move during reps. The preacher attachment is also solid and the motion feels good. It is adjustable but it seems there is only one setting that could possibly work. For legs, the extension/curl attachment work like any other. My favorite part is switching the large pegs around for use as a squat rack. It's a perfect height for me (I'm 5'10") and the pegs are long enough that it's easy to get the bar back in position. You can also drop the pegs down and use it to hold a curl bar by the ends or a full sized bar normally for various exercises.

So, basically, I really like the bench. It gets you pretty far into building a fully functional home gym at a very reasonable price. I added a standalone flat bench, regular bar, curl bar, dumbbells and a rack of weights and I can do most everything with the exception of back exercises. A power tower would finish the gym. Happy customer if the welds hold for several years.
